Envy isn’t that type of emotion. It doesn't make you want
better things for other people. Envy is essentially selfish.

that sounds more like my definitions, but not exactly the same. for jealousy, is that you'd wish you won it, too, or instead? for envy, is it hadn't won, and neither did you? that sounds kind of....dumb, if that's what envy is.
