Please search for these obscure poems and post them (Jordy's Uncle, we are looking at you). Let's celebrate this minority group and give them the attention they deserve.

We'll start:

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday, dear [NancyGene]
Happy Birthday to you

-Patty and Mildred Hill, Preston Ware Orem and Mrs. R. R. Forman

No one has any white people poetry? How about red and green sauce poetry? Old brown shoe poems? In the campfire and burning poetry?

Happy belated Birthday, NancyGene!

I've been scouring the internet to find a white person's poem, with little success. However, my latest search has turned something up:

SONNET 18: Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

-- William Shakespeare

One of the reasons I was having difficulty finding anything is because I was following Isaac Chase's example and spelling "Sonnet" with two "t's."

Michael Pendragon
"Again, Senetto, cameras and photographs were not so common in 1976 as they are now, so I don't have a huge number of photos from those days."
-- Will Donkey, on the scarcity of cameras in the late 20th Century

It wasn't our birthday, but thank you anyway and for your presence on AAPC.

A WHITE BLOSSOM

A tiny moon as small and white as a single jasmine flower
Leans all alone above my window, on night’s wintry bower,
Liquid as lime-tree blossom, soft as brilliant water or rain
She shines, the first white love of my youth, passionless and in vain.

-- D. H. Lawrence
