Saw an ad on facebook for a Bosch nano chainsaw for just US$30.
Those are tiny little chainsaws about the same size as a hand held
circular saw. Those sell in Bunnings for $200 roughly and one of
them would in theory be handy for pruning my forest. I knew it
was a scam but chose to try them anyway just in case it wasn't.

They only sent me chainsaw gloves that arent worth anything
like that. They did offer a full refund if I returned the gloves
but it would have cost more than that to return them to china.

Just got the full refund from paypal today.

Interesting that they can still use paypal. I told paypal that
it was an obvious scam and that they must have had plenty
of others scammed by them but didn't get any comment
from paypal on that bit.

Turns out the nano chainsaws are close to useless anyway.
I likely will buy a battery operated chainsaw. I do have a
couple of electric chainsaws which I much prefer over petrol
chainsaws, much easier to start when up a ladder etc but
running out an extension cord is a significant nuisance.

Bet it’s a scam. I deliberately signed up for a similar
scam for a very cheap Bosch nano chainsaw and only
got a couple of chainsaw gloves that werent worth
anything like the very cheap price. I did it to see
how well the paypal scam refund works. Works fine
tho it isnt that fast.

I've had stuff from China before but this pandemic means a long wait
often 3 months for "free" postage, thought it was from Hong Kong but
now the use China post.
It is being tracked and arrived in Australia on 14th of May and so far
stayed there. Don't yet know if it arrives it will be as advertised.

The US had banned stuff from China, so has Australia so they may be
overstocked and forced to sell?

That's a hell of a delay, maybe the AFP has decided
that it has illegal stuff in it and havent got around to

I try to avoid buying anything from China because it's mostly broken
rubbish. That said they often say Australian supplier, but comes from
China, but since the pandemic it takes months for me to get it, then
throw it away.

**Scammers like the ones you dealt with rely on a certain percentage of
people who do not bother to claim their money back. Let's be generous
and assume that 1% of people don't claim their money back (I reckon it
will be more like 20%) and that 1 million greedy fools hand over their
60 Bucks.

That means the scammers just made 600 Grand for doing nothing.

You just wasted time and effort.

show China post sent it to Australia?

Mine did send something, but not what they claimed I was buying.

They did say that they would do a full refund if I sent the chainsaw
gloves back to china, but that would have cost more than the refund.

Nar, that one did say it was coming from the USA freight free,
but actually came from China and had to be returned to China.

That assumes that the tracking is legit and not part of the scam and if
something was sent that it is the item you bought.

It will be interesting to see what plays out.

   You misread the ad....Chainsaw gloves *were* what was on offer!.
They are tricky with their wording.....I checked it out when you first
