Why the surprise? It's been a very long time since "The Great Folk Scare" that some of us remember fondly. The Limelighters haven't been front page news for a while, but have maintained a loyal and enthusiastic (while small) following through the decades. I don't think I've seen them live since the 80s, but they were at the top of their game even then.

I'm an oldie but sorry to say I have never heard of the Limeliters. Did they have no hits in the UK?

Not as far as I can determine, and they had
only one charted single in the US which
peaked at #60, although they had a number
of successful albums then.
