No bet from me. USA has lost practically every war it's fought since
WW2. I think they won one but can't recall which. However, the US
treats most wars as testing grounds for new martial tech & troop
competence. It's doesn't really care about winning the little stuff,
just like the saying "Don't sweat the small stuff". If it comes to a
real shooting war with Russia, Russia will disappear from the map
while the US will remain, wounded, many millions dead, cities gone,
but it will still be a functioning entity. Russia has no such chance.

20eui, $2000AUD + 75litres of petrol in storage with additiives & same
in diesel for my 4WD. Hundres of tins of beans, legumes, spam, all
sorts of pasta, rice, flour & other imperishables. Weapons (not as
nice as the weapons I would own were I to live in your neck of the
woods), tools, sleeping bags etc etc etc. Ready to go, providing we
don't get hit in the first exchance. Not too much for me, I'm a
prepper, hope for the best, expect & prepare for the worst.

You may be right on both points, but why tempt chaos now.
Imagine a coup in Papua New Guinea by communists and
they invite China in to defend the coup. Some credence some
deference should be granted Russia to defend itself.

The government has become toxic. It would take a mini dissertation.
If you live in USA decay is increasing, and leadership is lacking.

If I had the brain power to write I would use "Honor & Integrity" as
the theme of what has been lost, wrapped in the moral lesson from
the ages of history as "The ends never justifies the means." The idea that
a entity, country, or group can win every battle but still lose the war, if
they lose that inner fire, light of faith in their convictions.

As a strategic overview, I think technology and interconnectedness
has made the pursuit of empire building, and plunder obsolete.
Not sure that's true, but it is a working theorem.

Farrell should be as good as rolled gold, but the premise of the movie
