"Human Origins" is not a geographic point,
it is an environment. The only environment that
provides a satisfactory model, explaining the
evidence, is the "Waterside" or "littoral"
environment: The exploitation of marine resources.

"Aquatic Ape."

Savanna or an arboreal environment just plain rots.
Chimps are known, from their point of divergence,
to have evolved AWAY from bipedalism, in their
adaption to the forest, not towards it.

The LCA was an upright walker that had a hand that
looked more human than ape...

And, the savanna model is even more ridiculous.

Even modern savanna hunters, with what one
presumes would have access to superior weapons
and tactics than a species not yet evolved to walk
upright or use tools, sometimes choose
confrontation with hungry lions -- in an attempt to
steal their kills -- rather than bother with the time &
effort of killing a relatively harmless herbivore
themselves.

This is opposed to merely strolling along a beach,
picking up shellfish, scavenging beached..beached..

Whatever.

It's protein! It's all protein!

And it's another thing: EPA and DHA.

Humans not only needed an environment that was
supplying them with an abundance of DHA, in order
to grow larger brains, but Waterside eliminates the
need for the Intelligent Design inherent in the Out of
Africa purity model.

No. Wrong. That's Intelligent Design where a Creator
made a conscious decision. And it's stupid...

With Aquatic Ape though, the diet was all this virtually
free protein, and the DHA just came along for the ride.
So it was there, present, at the ready when "Bigger
Brain" mutations arose.

There. We just moved from the Intelligent Design of
Out of Africa purity to random mutations ticking
along, the environment providing the means to take
advantage of a potentially advantageous new gene.
