Do you follow the general advice advocated there that one does not need to use

I've never owned or regularly used an Apple product in my life. Not
out of spite or anything. It's just that there always has been a far
cheaper alternative that would do what I want.

Actually there is one exception. For earbuds I went with a more
expensive option.
