After all these years, I am in a royal mess.

This is a Windows system.

I have GPG4win installed.

I have multiple keys and GPG4win finds them all.

However for some reason, QSL does NOT find any of my keys.
QSA does not find any keys either

Tools/Options/PGP
Private keyring
Public Keyring
secring
pubring

I have been all over my system.

No matter what location I define
for secring and pubring QSL cannot find them.

The settings in QSA follow the settings in QSL.

My QSA cannot find any keys either.

The reason is likely because QSL is old software and expects old gpg
files (pubring.gpg secring.gpg.) GPG4win is modern software using modern
GPG file formats that are incompatible with QSL's expectations.

Finally, someone said it.

That is the truth.

Sad, but true.

Thanks, SEC3.

I'm using XP with QSL. I see a version of gpg installed by QSL inside
its own directory on my E: external drive.

Why is he installing another*(different) version of PGP?

I also have Network Associates 6.5.8 installed on my C: drive, which I
use for encrypting other stuff not related to QSL. These two PGP
installs have never conflicted that I'm aware of.

Actually pretty cool ...

I for example have two and can do with them encrypted MMS/SMS and
encrypted voice communications, thanks to their USB ports. Beats any
crypto messenger with smartphones and is much, much cheaper.

My new Laser Fax is also pretty cool, for replacing encrypted emails.

You're absolutely correct. It's an old Verizon LG in a battered up
and torn leather case. It also has the texting ability cut off by
request. Never used it. Spammers started sending texts. Goodbye
texting ability. i had Verizon turn it off.

To me it is absolutely ridiculous to send texts instead of talking to
people as one human being to another. Texts might be helpful for such
people as carpenters and other workman to relay precise technical
measurements or specs, but is psychologically askew for other humans
to make a habit of.

USB ports? I have no such thing on mine. Have charging port and two
push switches on one side, and I don't even remember what those are
for. (Took a chance and tried 'em. Volume control. Up and down.)

Another good thing about my ancient flipper is that it fits very
easily into any one of my pockets, pants^ or shirt.

(Don't you dare correct my "pants" wording with that asinine "pant"
crap.)

Texting is a gaff off to people you don't want to talk with.
You can say anything and they will "lol" "LIKE" "LOVE" "Thumps

18 Billion text messages sent globally in a 24 hour period.

Glad to know they're all wrong.

Thumbs up.
