So, here is what I need to know:
What does it mean when I encrypt my PGP key with the paranoici PGP key or the mixmin key, the try to open it up with my notebook app and see nothing but a bunch of gibberish, no block structure, no PGP start or end markers or any ASCII characters. I am trying to make a nym, and though I have done it before a couple of time many years ago, I am having problems this time 'round.

"Bunch of gibberish" sounds like you are looking at binary data.
Creating a nym request message requires ASCII text. You probably omitted
the -a flag during the creation process.

nym.mixmin.net is the only game in town. nymph.paranoici.org is dead, AFAIK.

I don't use Omnimix myself but I have often heard it recommended for
Ghio nym creation:

Thank you, folks. I definitely appreciate any and all help.
I will try to understand and use what I can to finally one day set up a nym..
( Things seem to have gotten more complicated since the days of Jack B. Nymble. That was more my speed, but now that I have found a copy of JBN2, I cannot get it to work, either.)
