I have omnimx 2.6.6 all installed by default
I followed the tutorial step by step in the configuration and that of
Thunderbid always following the instructions to the letter.

The only thing I've omitted in Omnimix is SMTP by default at 25 (??)

Google default SMTP 465 0auth SS / TLS

News news.mixmin.net: 119
september.org. original thunderbird port: 563 SSL / TLS with username

I open to download the newgroups nothing happens, stop, with the update
option I seem to wait ...

Your Thunderbird doesn't connect with Google, it connects with the SMTP
port of your local OmniMix! That's why it has to use the port that OM
offers, which you see at OM's "Server" tab.

Please remove the space characters within the extended username!

Once again, have a look ath OM's "Server" tab.

BTW, posting the output at OM's "Log" list may help us fix your
problems.
