Can I send mail with attachments?
I have configured thunderbird and installed omnimix.
I can use rich text.
But mails with attachments fail to deliver.
Also the mails sent may end up in spam.

never tried sending messages with attachments via remailers before, but
the old QSL Help file (qsl.chm) might help explain some of the problems:

maybe test a few messages with small attachments to trusted recipient,
and if successful try slightly larger ones until upper limit is found?

p.s. don't know about other email servers, but gmail.com seems not only
"to big to fail" (might explain why googlegroups.com ignores complaints)

unexpectedly wind up in the gmail.com "spam" folder, so other servers
