Why not use tallow.exe? Much simpler to use and does the job,
you are asking for.

Install OM, which, including its Tor subsystem, then starts with the OS.
Tor's SOCKS port and further connection parameters are to be found at
OM's Tor / Cfg tab. The Tor and Log tabs at the right tell you what's
going on.

Circuit length restricted to 3 nodes.
And why simpler? QS supports SOCKS.

i've never used qsl but plenty of users apparently still do, ... and
because omnimix runs great in any version of windows from xp thru 11,
it would makes good sense for the experts that lurk and occasionally
post in a.p.a-s. to explain to everyone exactly how to make qsl work
with omnimix, and maybe also separately with tor browser w/o omnimix

I tried this using qsaam:

Name: omnimix
User ID: omnimix
Password: omnimix
NNTP: 9050
Proxy Server: 127.0.0.1
Socks: 4a

This...

Proxy: omnimix

Connection failed! IdError: Socket Error # 10061

To avoid interferences with a standard Tor installation and
the Tor Browser OM's Tor SOCKS port number is 9054 with the
Tor control port number 9055. As already mentioned you find
and change those parameters at OM's Tor|Cfg tab. Tor proxy
access requires no username/password authentication!

i tried connecting qsl w/tor browser by setting qsl's proxy server to
port 9054 for windows 7 and port 9150 for windows 11 "operation timed
out". . . seems qsl might not work with either tor browser or omnimix,
but the question never answered is what can qsl do that omnimix can't?

THAT is the central question:

"what can qsl do that omnimix can't?"

I fail to see the benefit/advantage.

at only 9 mb, qsl is a tiny program compared to omnimix at 182 mb
installed . . . twenty times larger and probably a thousand times
more useful; a lot of the qsl mania could be misdirection from om?

Nobody thinks about executable sizes anymore -- the days when you had to,
like back in the day are long-gone. My first computer had 64K of ram, not
65MB, let alone multiple GB of ram, like they do today.

Nobody cares about size anymore -- hell, even bloody HTML emails are 20-30
times larger than what they'd otherwise be, if they were in plain text.

If memory serves, QSL dates (1999) from when size & efficiency mattered, far
more than they do today.

The most significant difference between QSL and OmniMix is OM's ability to
use the newer YAMN mix network. Mixmaster is pretty long in the tooth,
dating back to the early-to-mid 1990s, when 1024-bit RSA (or DSS) keys were
considered reasonably secure.

Dude, you're totally wrong.

This is how it's done with OmniMix and others. It also assumes you have
set up the templates you intend to use.

QSL
Tools
Proxies (Proxy Manager)
New (Create new proxy)
Name
proxy1 (Anything you want, can have multiple proxy settings)
host=127.0.0.1
Protocol/Port=9054 (9054 OmniMix, 9150 Tor Browser, 9050 Tor Expert)
Proto=SH (SMTP and HTTP, pick both)
Socks=4a (Or 5 in some cases, it is okay to configure a second proxy using
Socks5)
Done

Check the upper right corner and ensure your templates have the proxy you
desire selected.
Test using alt.test for best results.
